Frequently asked
Everything, in one place
We answer the questions we hear most often at the chair. Studio policies sit at the top, then service-specific questions grouped by brows, lips, and the free consultation.
About the studio
How we work — pricing, consultations, healing, policies.
How are your services priced, and what is included?
Every paid brow and lip service at Browzhaus is AED 1,500, with a AED 200 booking deposit that comes off the total on the day. The price is all-in: mapping, numbing, pigment, aftercare balm, and the six-week touch-up. There are no surprise add-ons and no pressure upsells at the chair.
Do I really need a consultation first?
Yes — and it is free. A 15-minute consultation is how we confirm your skin is a good candidate, match a pigment to your undertone in daylight, and agree on the shape before any deposit or date is set. We would rather turn a client away kindly at the consult than rush someone into the wrong service.
How long does the full healing process take?
The surface heals in 7 to 10 days, but the pigment keeps settling for about six weeks. Expect darker and sharper colour in the first few days, a flaky or scabby stage around days 4 to 8, a lighter "ghost" phase around week 2 to 4, and a gentle return of the true colour by week 5 or 6. We book your touch-up at that six-week mark to lock everything in.
Does it hurt?
A topical numbing cream goes on before we start, and a secondary numbing gel is reapplied throughout. Most brow clients describe it as uncomfortable rather than painful — closer to threading than to a body tattoo. Lip work is more sensation-intense because the tissue is thinner; we build breaks into the session and check in often.
Can I book while pregnant or breastfeeding?
We do not pigment pregnant or breastfeeding clients. It is a personal studio policy grounded in the lack of long-term safety data on pigments during those periods. If you booked and then found out, simply tell us — we will move your date and keep your deposit live, no penalty.
What aftercare do I actually need to do?
We send you home with the balm, written instructions, and a text check-in schedule. The essentials are simple: keep the area dry for the first 24 hours, apply a rice-grain of balm twice daily for 5 to 7 days, avoid sweat, steam, pools and direct sun for one to two weeks, and do not pick or peel the flakes. Retention depends more on aftercare than on technique.
Is the six-week touch-up really included?
Yes. Every paid brow and lip service includes one complimentary touch-up booked between weeks 5 and 8. That is when we adjust shape, deepen colour where it healed light, and soften any edge that needs it. Additional refreshes are offered at a reduced returning-client rate.
What is your cancellation and rescheduling policy?
Reschedule for free any time up to 48 hours before your appointment — your deposit moves with you. Inside 48 hours, the AED 200 deposit is forfeited and a fresh one is required to rebook. No-shows are charged the full service. We are strict on the window because last-minute gaps are almost impossible to fill in a solo studio.
How long will the results last?
Brow pigment typically lasts 12 to 24 months, lip blush 2 to 3 years, depending on your skin type, sun exposure, skincare, and how warm your pigment was to begin with. Most clients come back for an annual or biennial refresh at a returning-client rate rather than a full re-do.
Where is the studio, and how do I find it?
We are a private, single-artist studio in Jumeirah Lake Towers (JLT), Dubai. The exact address and door code go out with your confirmation email once the deposit is in. There is paid parking in the building and a metro stop a short walk away.
Who will be doing my appointment?
Lubna, the founder, performs every service personally. There are no rotating technicians and no trainees on paying clients. That is also why the calendar is tight — please book early, especially around weekends and holidays.
Can I bring someone with me?
The studio is small and the work is close-up, so we ask that you come alone where possible. If you need a companion for accessibility, anxiety, or a long commute, let us know ahead of time and we will make space in the waiting nook.
Brow services
Questions specific to each brow treatment we offer.
Will anyone be able to tell I had them done?
Not if the mapping is right. On day one they look darker and sharper than the final result, but after the 7 to 10 day shed, the colour drops by about a third and the edges soften. By week 6, most clients report no one notices unless they are told.
Will the hair-stroke front fade faster than the powder tail?
Yes, and we tell every client this up front. Microbladed strokes typically hold 10 to 14 months. Powder shading holds 18 to 24 months. That is why the annual refresh focuses mostly on the front.
Can I get powder only on the tail and leave the front alone?
You can, and it is a reasonable request if your front brow is already dense. We call that a partial and quote it at the consultation. The same AED 200 deposit applies.
How is this different from Ombré Browz?
Ombré is 100 percent powder from front to tail, no blade work. Signature mixes both techniques. Ombré looks more filled-in, Signature looks more like natural brow hair at the front.
How much downtime should I plan for?
Plan for the brows to look darker and slightly swollen for 3 to 5 days, then flaky for another 3 to 5 days. You can work through all of it. Avoid major events in the first 10 days if you would rather not explain the healing stage.
Is this actually going to show up on my skin?
Yes, but subtly. The point of Soft Browz is that the result looks like a tinted brow rather than a tattooed one. If you want something more visible, we will tell you at consultation and suggest Signature or Ombré instead.
From Soft Browz
Will it last as long as Ombré?
Usually a bit less. Because we apply the pigment at a lower saturation, there is less pigment in the skin to begin with, so fade can reach the touch-up stage a few months sooner. Expect 12 to 20 months on most skin types.
From Soft Browz
I have oily skin, will the pigment still hold?
Powder machine work is actually the most forgiving technique for oily skin. You will retain less than dry-skinned clients, but more than you would with microblading. We adjust saturation during the session based on how your skin takes pigment.
From Soft Browz
Can I wear brow makeup over this after it heals?
Absolutely, and many clients do on event days. The PMU gives you your base shape so the pencil or gel goes on faster and more evenly.
From Soft Browz
Is Ombré going to look too strong on me?
It depends on your mapping and how saturated we go. We always start lighter than you think you want, because we can add more pigment at the touch-up but we cannot remove it. If you want softer, we steer you to Soft Browz and tell you so at consultation.
From Ombré Browz
How long does it actually last?
18 to 24 months for most clients, longer on dry skin with low sun exposure, shorter on oily skin or frequent sun. After that, the pigment fades to a soft shadow rather than disappearing cleanly, which is why we recommend a refresh every 12 to 18 months.
From Ombré Browz
Can this cover up my old microblading?
In most cases yes. Ombré sits well on top of faded microblading and evens out uneven strokes. If your old work is still dark or has shifted colour, we will assess at consultation and may recommend a removal session first.
From Ombré Browz
Does the front really need to be lighter?
Yes. A front that matches the tail density reads as a block, which is the look most clients want to avoid. The 20 to 30 percent lighter head is what makes the brow look grown rather than drawn.
From Ombré Browz
How is this different from Signature Browz?
Signature is roughly 70/30 powder to strokes, with the stroke work concentrated in the front third of the brow. Hybrid is 50/50 with strokes running the full length. Hybrid looks more like real hair. Signature holds longer and looks more uniform.
From Hybrid Browz
Will the strokes blur into the powder over time?
Some softening is normal and expected. On dry to normal skin the strokes stay readable for around 12 months. On oily skin they blur faster, which is why we do not recommend hybrid for oily types. The touch-up resets the stroke definition.
From Hybrid Browz
Why does hybrid fade faster than powder or ombre?
Hair strokes are thin lines of pigment. They have less pigment mass than a shaded area, so they fade sooner. The powder component of your hybrid will outlast the strokes. That is why the first touch-up is usually a stroke refresh rather than a full redo.
From Hybrid Browz
Can I come back later and add more powder if I want a fuller look?
Yes. Many clients start with hybrid, live with it for a year, then add more powder at the touch-up if they want a bolder shape. We can build toward Signature or Ombre over time. Going the other way, from powder back to visible strokes, is harder.
From Hybrid Browz
Will this damage my brow hairs?
Done correctly and not repeated too often, no. The solution is mild and timed to your hair type. Repeated back-to-back laminations, or laminations done at home with the wrong strength product, will dry the hair and cause breakage. We space treatments at least 6 weeks apart.
From Lamination Browz
Can I book a pigment service straight after?
We recommend waiting at least 2 weeks between a lamination and any pigmentation work. The skin needs to settle and the hair needs to soften back to its normal texture so we can map the shape accurately. Book them as two separate appointments.
From Lamination Browz
Why not do this at home with a kit?
The kits sold online use a generic processing time. Brow hair varies by person. Leave the solution on for 30 seconds too long and you get frizz, breakage, or hair that falls out at the root. Most of the repair cases we see are home-kit jobs.
From Lamination Browz
How often can I repeat it?
Every 6 to 8 weeks is safe. The hair needs time to recover between treatments. If you want to stretch it further, we can show you how to brush and set the brows at home to keep the shape between appointments.
From Lamination Browz
Is this worth it if I am going to get microblading or Signature Browz anyway?
Yes, and we would rather you do this first. The shape work here carries directly into your pigmentation appointment. You also get to live with the proposed shape for a few weeks, which is the best way to know if it suits your face before we commit pigment to skin.
From Shape Browz
How long does the tint last?
The tint on the skin lasts around 7 to 10 days. The tint on the hair itself lasts 3 to 4 weeks. In Dubai heat and with daily SPF, expect the shorter end of that range. Oil cleansers shorten it further.
From Shape Browz
Can I book a pigment service on the same day?
No. We need the brow area calm and free of tint residue to map a pigment service properly. Book shape first, wait at least 2 weeks, then come in for pigment work if you want to go permanent.
From Shape Browz
Lip services
Questions specific to lip blush and dark lip correction.
Will it look like lipstick?
No. Lip blush sits inside the lip tissue as a soft wash, not a layer on top. It reads as your own lips looking healthier, not as product. If you want bold lipstick colour, lip blush will disappoint you.
From Lip Blush
How much does it hurt compared to brows?
Honestly, more. Lips have denser nerve endings and the area swells faster. We numb throughout the appointment, but expect a real step up from a brow session. Tenderness lasts three to five days.
From Lip Blush
Why does it heal so much lighter?
Your lips form a thin protective layer over the pigment in the first week, which hides about 30 to 40 percent of the initial intensity. What you see at day 1 is not what you keep. The final colour shows at week four to six.
From Lip Blush
Do I really need the 6-week touch-up?
Yes, in almost every case. Lips heal unevenly and the touch-up is where we balance patchiness, reinforce weak spots, and settle the final colour. We price the initial session to include this reality, but the touch-up itself is a separate short appointment.
From Lip Blush
Will it cover cold sores?
No, and a cold sore outbreak during healing can distort the pigment and delay recovery. If you have any history of cold sores, you must use prophylactic antivirals. If you have an active outbreak, we postpone.
From Lip Blush
Why do I need more than one session?
The skin only accepts and retains a limited amount of pigment in one pass. Warm pigment over a cool base neutralises partially on visit one, then layered neutralisation across visits two and three gives a stable, even final tone. One session cannot get there cleanly.
From Dark Lip Correction
How many sessions will I actually need?
Most clients need two. Some need three, particularly if the starting undertone is very cool or very saturated. We assess honestly at the 8 to 12 week follow-up and tell you whether a third session will add value or not.
From Dark Lip Correction
Will my lips look unnatural?
No, when done correctly. The goal is your lips in a warmer key, not a different colour. If you want bold or bright lips, dark lip correction is the wrong service and we will say so.
From Dark Lip Correction
Should I do this or lip blush?
Lip blush is for lips that have lost natural colour and need warming up a step. Dark lip correction is for lips with cool undertones that need active neutralising across multiple sessions. If you are not sure which, book a consultation. We will look at your lips and tell you.
From Dark Lip Correction
Is this whitening?
No. We do not whiten lips, we do not use lightening agents, and anyone offering to bleach lip tissue is doing something we will not do. This is neutralising warm pigment over cool pigment. Your lips remain your lips, just in a warmer key.

Consultation
What to expect at the free 15-minute consult.
Is there any pressure to book on the day?
No. Our default is that you leave with a written recommendation and book later from home. If you want to book the same day you can, but we do not ask.
From Consultation
Can I do it over video call?
Yes. Video consultations work well for returning clients, follow-up questions, and for anyone living outside Dubai planning a trip. In-studio is better if you want us to look closely at skin or existing work.
From Consultation
What if I decide not to go ahead at all?
That is a good outcome. A consultation that talks you out of a treatment you would regret is the consultation working as intended. You owe us nothing and we will not chase you.
